Joy
A happy day in the kitchen baking bread, as well as in studio using watercolors while Fidget did too and the Pres piddled with his Harley. I made some sketches, painted a post card, and one little canvas board for the church art auction. I am using scenes from all the postcards my pen pals have sent me in the past 6 months. Painting= joy!

Comfort
Friday, February 22, 2013
Ahh, back to the desk. It's been a couple of weeks since our move. I finally have most things unpacked and put away so that I have a little time to catch up on my Bible reading and correspondence in the mornings. Yesterday I had just started to write when I needed to go downstairs and it was at least an hour before I came back. When I returned the desk was bathed in a dreamy golden light from the one open window blind. That moment said to me, I'm home.
God doesn't always bring us back to the same place. But He does promise that even with the good things He gives us here, we aren't ever really home. All the good things are just whispers of the joy yet to come.
This week I got word that my Grandma Wretha had died in central Florida. It was sad for the few people who still know her. Since she was about ready to have her 103rd birthday, there weren't many of her contemporaries left. But it gave me pause to think about how joyful our reunion will be, and how glorious her days are now, worshiping at the throne. Until I can do that, I am thankful for the good things God gives me here.
Back to the Drawing Board
We're back at River's Edge Bungalow and settling in well. It's been a few busy weeks of moving things from the apartment, then receiving our shipment of household goods from Rhode Island, unpacking, and fixing things that were broken or neglected when the tenants were here.
Fidget is glad to have her little hall space back. The Pres redid this area for her birthday a few years ago. He put in a cork board at the top and a chalk board below. On the sides we painted magnetic primer below the blue color so she could put magnets there as well. For that birthday I got photos of her and magnetized them and pretty dresses from a girls' fancy dress catalog. That was a fun birthday. It's so great to rediscover all the things we love about this home.

latest little lovely
Here's a just-finished project: fingerless gloves for a friend's little girl. It's a sweet and soft Cashmere blend called Cash Vero.
We're moving back to River's Edge next week but we are keeping busy with our schooling, pen pals and karate. Wishing you daily joys and reminders of God's loving presence.

Optimism
Lots of great things are going on at the Train Central workshop. Yes, we're into the grey days of winter. But the thing about being a believer is that the Lord gives our spirits great buoyancy, no matter what is going on in the world, in our hearts, or in our schedules. So, we carry on. As the Bible says, we are not consumed. Instead, we knit :).
But we have to keep our strength up. Here's Fidget about to gobble
one of Sunday's hand made pizzas. We made 3: pepperoni and mushroom; pineapple and Canadian bacon; and just cheese.
School work continues. And somehow, even next to the train tracks, with grey weather outside, it is encouraging. Math work is being understood, Fig's love of Greek mythology continues, and we get to be together all day long. Here's what we're reading these days.
God is good!
Here are two gifts completed this week.
Some luscious, just-arrived bulky soft
Italian wools for winter projects.
Some wool that's been on the back burner that I am using for new socks to wear with jeans through the long grey winter months.
I love the variations on blue.
